WHY 3-ACT EDITING?
While it's far from the only storytelling structure out there, the 3-Act Story Structure is a tried-and-true tool for designing your narrative. Funnily enough, it's also a pretty good framework for the editing process, which is why I chose the name. Here's how it breaks down.

PART 1: The SETUP
In the 3-Act Structure, this is where the story gets started. We have our inciting incident (you contact me via this form), which leads to our first plot point (we discuss your project, what you're looking for, and what I can offer), leading to the threshold moment (you hire me).
PART 2: The CONFRONTATION
It's off to the races. Depending on what service you've requested, we'll go through several rounds of rising action (my editorial notes and feedback), leading to our second plot point (handing those notes off to you). Hopefully that doesn't trigger a Dark Night of the Soul, but if it does, rest assured I'll be right next to you the whole way.

PART 3: The RESOLUTION
You have the tools you need, the knowledge you've gained, and the encouragement necessary to face the crisis (revising your manuscript). As your editor, I'll walk with you through the falling action (reviewing those revisions), all the way to the denouement (celebrating your freshly edited book).
