This is particular to writers pursuing a literary agent. If you've finished your manuscript and are ready to start looking for representation, you'll need a query packet ready to send to a agent who represents your genre.

 

The query letter is a key element of that packet. Query letters generally follow specific guidelines, and if you're looking for a helpful critique, I'm happy to review your letter before you send it out.
